"Let's run this in 16 minutes!" - "Wait, do you mean a 16 minute per mile pace, or a total of 16 minutes for the 5k?" Arch-rivals Tom Young and Roadkill banter before the local MCRRC club race on a frosty November morn. In his high school glory days, Tom says, he was that fast - awesome!
"Let me out!" a caged skeleton says, as Roadkill pauses during his run to the starting line. On the jog home, "My brain hurts!" mirrors the pose of "Grief of Cyparissus", a statue also named "Oh Lord, I Missed the Train" by girls at the Forest Glen Seminary finishing school in the early 1900's: if you could see the train coming when you were at that statue, it was too late to make it to the railway station in time.
